The room was large and comfortable and quiet.

The bar and restaurant prices were very expensive. However the Reception stafff were not very polite, and they had no record of my booking for either myself or my mother and sister. They also took payment for the rooms on my credit card where the Booked.net site clearly states that charges are deducted at the time of booking. They told me that this was incorrect, so somebody's getting it wrong.

The whole experience was fantastic. Handy location, we need just 10 minutes walk to the bus station. Besides, the area was lovely, next to St Clement. Got fabulous room with comfy beds as expected, appreciated it.

All the staff except one were excellent.

The lady in charge of the restaurant on the morning of Friday 15 April was extremely abrupt to customers and staff. I actually felt uncomfortable eating my breakfast and felt so sorry for the staff. The gentleman who was incharge on the Thursday and Saturday mornings was lovely. Two double beds in our family room caused problems and one of our children ended up sleeping on the floor. A family room should have a double and two single beds.

The service and standard of food in the restaurant was very poor. Aso the gym facilities were very limited.

Sam the waiter in the restaurant was (and has always been) an absolute credit to this hotel - he is attentive, courteous and should be rewarded in some way for his excellent work - other guest at check-out commented on this to the staff at reception also.

The fact that the rate was not right on checking in and they had problems finding second reservation - also a bottle of wine was put on our room and service charged even though we did not have it (the slip was not signed for anyway) but this was taken off again when questioned.

    great getaway
    good selection
    nice rooms
    slow service

The hotel was perfect for our getaway, and we loved exploring nearby places like Priory Park and taking a quick trip into London, just 16 miles away. Plenty of golf clubs around too. The rooms were nice, and the breakfast had a good selection. I recommend it for a fun group holiday.

One downside was the slow service at dinner. We waited a while before our food arrived, a bit frustrating.

I found the hotel staff were excellant and very helpful. The rooms were spacious and comfortable.

The toilet seat in the room was heavily stained underneath and needed replacing.

    great location
    fun for families
    lack of family activities

This hotel was perfect for our large family trip, especially with three grandkids in tow. The location is great for exploring Hertfordshire and just 16 miles from London. We particularly enjoyed the time spent at Priory Park nearby.

My kids wished there were more entertaining activities for families. It would have been great to have kid-friendly amenities.

This is a great hotel for the outskirts of London- it was nice to retreat to somewhere so quiet and comfortable. The 12pm check out was brilliant as well!

Ask for a room above the first floor as there are sliding doors on all of the rooms so if you want to have the window open at night it is not very secure unless you are level 2 or above.
